Odisha has extended lockdown till 30th April 2020 and for all educational institutions till 17th June 2020.

Odisha is the first state in India that has extended its lock down period. As the condition is getting worse the state CM Naveen Patnaik has also requested not to start the Train and Air Services till 30th April 2020.

“Coronavirus is the biggest threat that the human race has faced in more than a century. Life will not be the same ever. All of us must understand this and face it boldly together. With our sacrifice and with the blessings of Lord Jagannath this too shall pass”- CM Naveen Patnaik.

Odisha CM also claimed that they propose to conduct more than 1 lakh tests in the state.

Also CM stated to take all possible measures to facilitate various activities related to Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and MGNREGA while keeping all the Social Distancing Norms.

Odisha till date has 43 confirmed cases of Corona virus out of which 2 recovered and 1 died.

Odisha CM also added “As has been stated earlier, there will not be any problem in the transport of goods. We are leaving no stone unturned in scaling up COVID-19 testing and treatment facilities. We propose to conduct 1Lakh Rapid Test in the state at the earliest possible time.”
